Her commitment to excellence was further exemplified when she joined the esteemed Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she spent 50 incredible years, contributing her heart and soul to its mission.

Peggy's impact expanded far beyond her family and career. As the first African American librarian in the Concord City School System, she blazed trails for three decades, shaping young minds and fostering a love for learning. Her teaching prowess extended to Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, where she instilled knowledge and empowerment through adult education and GED programs.

Her civic engagement was equally admirable, contributing to organizations like The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, NAACP, and many more. As a charismatic storyteller, Peggy's gift of public speaking and singing enriched her community. She was a beacon of guidance, a mentor whose words could heal and uplift anyone who sought her wisdom.

As a charter member of the Concord Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Peggy Ann Freeman Fleming remains a treasured figure in Concord's history.
